I take a walk
It seems lately I've been doing a lot of walking
And I'm alone
With only my thoughts to keep me company,
Walking down the road to another endless day
Of flipping eggs and beer battering perch
Or walking home to an empty apartment
Where I'll flip through the channels
And watch reruns of TV shows I've seen 312 times before
Down the road twice a day
Cars pass me by
Faces stare at me
Wondering why I'm walking
"Where's your car" the eyes ask
As they stare for the two seconds it takes to pass
And their thoughts turn back to work or kids or groceries
What they don't take the time to think is,
Maybe, I like my walk.
