The biggest irony in life is that the Mayfly (Ephemeroptera) is a fugacious creature that lives its whole life within less than one day.
Perhaps the perception of something being ephemeral and something being fugacious are completely dependent on the used measures.
In other words: it's ironical, but it depends on the point of view.
